FAQ

What is Personal & Life Coaching?

Personal / Life Coaching is a process in which a client is accompanied or guided by a coach. It is a collaborative partnership that is based on trust and aims to help the client to define, and achieve their goals that are around different aspects of life. Be it relationships, the relationship with themselves, what they want to do in life, or how to find more balance and a healthier way of dealing with the distractions and challenges of life in modern days.  Not seldom by first clarifying these goals more precisely to then define and incorporate into the client’s daily actions and ways of thinking chosen strategies to attain these.

What kind of Coaching styles do I practice?

There are several styles of coaching. To make it not overly complicated, I discern between the three biggest styles. Directive Coaching, Non-Directive Coaching, and Dialogical Coaching.

The Non-Directive Coaching.

The Non-Directive Coaching prefers to let the client find conclusions and solutions to problems solely by themselves. It intends to not influence the client´s ideas and solutions in any way. It works almost solely with questions that are “neutral”, meaning not biased by a certain direction the coach can have in mind.  This form of coaching takes longer usually since it depends on the client’s ability and creativity to come up with their own ideas and solutions. Non-Directive Caching is based on the assumption, that the client holds already all ideas and solutions within themselves and only needs help in “digging” these out to the surface of their consciousness.

The Directive Coaching.

Directive Coaching on the other hand is beneficial when the client lacks the experience, knowledge, or expertise to come up with effective solutions and strategies by themselves. For the simple fact that he / she might hasn´t been much into the workings of the human mind, personal development, and further topics around the humans full potential, or field and topic in which solutions and strategies are desired.

It is therefore a rather advocative and informative approach. It uses question techniques for different purposes, but includes the transfer of empowering and clarifying knowledge and expertise in form of suggestions and explanations, as well as exercises, and constructive feedback. It can take forms of mentoring since it helps the clients in their situations and with their challenges as a guidance. This requires the client to be open to new ideas, solutions, and to learn. In short; to be coachable.

Directive coaching is based on the old proverb: “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” Directive Coaching is giving the fish, while at the same time teaches him or her to fish.

The Dialogical Coaching.

Dialogical Coaching is sort of a mix of both of them.  It embraces the power of inquiry and questions that can have empowering and clarifying effects, as to identify own goals, strategies, and solutions, while also sharing possible strategies that research has identified as effective, or which have proven of having worked.

I use to 60 % the Directive Coaching and to 40 % the Dialogical Coaching.

I have studied many different fields over the last 12 years and have seen certain ideas and strategies work, and others not. My Directive Coaching is based on how the human mind, the conscious, and the subconscious mind work, on their own, and together. As well as on different psychologies, and general studies of human behavior. Furthermore it is based on proven powerful knowledge, techniques, and strategies that facilitate also the practical aspect of igniting and execute desired change and progress in a systematic and long-term serving manner.

While being based on modern scientific research of different fields, it is also based on knowledge, principles, and techniques that have proved themselves over thousands of years already. I use non-dogmatic and non-ritualistic working knowledge and techniques from the philosophies of Yoga, Buddhism with special focus on Zen-Buddhism, and Daoism. By Yoga, I don´t refer to the physical movements which most people believe to be all that Yoga is, the “Asanas”, which are 1/8 of the Yoga path by Patanjali. There are different types of Yoga and the types that focus more on the physical approach, have the umbrella term “Hatha” Yoga. Yoga means in Sanskrit “yoking” or “union”. The goal of Yoga is to unite the more worldly self that relies solely on our cognitive abilities with the “higher” or “true” self that resides within everyone. In my approach I refer to the overall wisdom of the Yoga system, highly beneficial recommendations for living life, as well as it´s greatest gift, the different breathing techniques, “Pranayama”, and meditation techniques. That can lead to the end goal of Yoga and which are a combination of the mentioned breathing techniques, called “Pranayama” in Yoga, as well as “Pratyahara”, the withdrawal from our five senses that connect us to the outer world, “Dharana”, which is deep focus and concentration. Together these lead to “Dhyana” – the Sanskrit term for the practice of meditation. The word from which the Japanese word “Zen” originates by being inspired from the Chinese Mahayana Buddhist “Chan” school, which is a middle Chinese transliteration of the Sanskrit word “Dhyana”.

Exercises and Neuroplasticity.

To implement desired changes and progresses, inner ones and outer ones, I combine autosuggestion techniques with meditation techniques, which I give the client as exercises that are to be followed for in between the sessions. With naming the number of how often they are practiced, as well as when ideally.

They help to literally create new and needed neural connections and pathways, that help the brain to rewire itself to be programmed on the achievement of the desired goals and progress. This makes my coaching being based on neurogenesis, the scientifically proven fact, that our brains are for our whole lives a constant process and able, to create new neural connections, as well as to lessen the effect, of older neural connections. Practicing techniques that do this, is called neuroplasticity.

Why is Personal & Life Coaching so popular?

Personal & Life Coaching is so popular because it enables the release of personal creativity, energy, strength, and confidence to achieve desired changes, progress, and goals in life. Two brains are better than one, especially if one has more experience and expertise in the field of personal development and how to speed up the growth into one´s full potential.

Due to the neural patterns in our brain, it is very difficult for oneself to create consistent and sustainable changes. Having someone who creates a system that works and who holds one accountable, is one of several major aspects, that make Personal & Life Coaching so powerful and effective. And popular besides enabling one to become systematically the person one knows one is capable of becoming.

In case it includes even the learning of powerful knowledge and skills, psychological ones and practical ones, and proven strategies and fundamental principles, it empowers the client to use these for the rest of their life.

It becomes then a wise and smart investment in oneself and one’s life which brings over the years a multiplied “ROI” – return of investments in quality of life, but also financially.

By that one can also become of greater help and inspiration for one´s immediate surrounding and loved ones. Being the strong person others can lean to when life delivers some punches.

Who do I coach?

I coach individuals who feel a burning desire or need for growth, change, & progress in their personality & life. Personally and professionally.

Everybody who has understood that for major shifts, changes, & progress to happen, they need to change and evolve themselves first in the degrees and kinds, that are necessary and in alignment with their goals. As Albert Einstein has already wisely recognized that a problem cannot be solved from the same level of thinking or consciousness, it was created.

Everybody who is open to learning new perspectives, knowledge, techniques, and strategies. Since new perspectives, knowledge, techniques and strategies enable us to use new forms of acting, behaving and problem solving.

In short; anybody who takes their life, visions, heart´s desires, dreams, and goals seriously and is ready for personal change, development, and growth.

When are results to be expected?

It depends on the size of the goals, as well as of the individual challenges along the way.

Concerning the sense of clarity, relief, confidence, hope, and empowerment, and with these, first practical changes, one can expect them after already the first or second session. With growing results with each new one.

What is The Bellavita Method?

It is a method that was created after more than 12 years of very holistic research in all fields regarding personal development and empowerment, as well as techniques and strategies to create a meaningful, fulfilling, healthy, and prosperous, and abundant lifestyle.

It is based on different psychologies and knowledge of human behavior tendencies, as well as the diamonds of knowledge and wisdom of Asian philosophies such as Yoga, Buddhism, Zen-Buddhism, and Daoism.

Furthermore, the empowering revelations of especially neuroscience play a fundamental aspect of the psychological, spiritual, and practical approach.

In addition, I have studied the overall field of success with all its psychological and practical principles and aspects and therefore use these in my approach as well.

What is The Sky Is The Limit Challenge & for who is it?

The Sky Is The Limit Challenge is a Program Membership for personal transformation, based on the individual’s objectives and needs, and The Bellavita Method. It is 6 months long with a monthly fee, that offers access to premium knowledge and exercises, as well as two one-on-one sessions a month  that are hold online. It is designed for individuals who don´t live in Barcelona, Spain, and who are able to work several hours a week on their personal desired and needed transformation.

To help them not only save them the stress of looking for helpful and effective answers in many different sources but to give them these in a tailor-made fashion while saving money, unnecessary trials and error, and the most precious of all, time.

What is unique about my coaching style? What are the benefits?

My coaching style is unique because it offers a holistic approach that is impossible to find due to it being based on more than 12 years and ongoing research. Research of the best strategies and techniques that exist for personal development, empowerment, and attainment of success, as well as inner clarity, harmony, control of mind, and financial freedom. Since it includes a massive amount of transfer of knowledge, and not only clarifying and empowering questions, as non-directive coaching mainly does. It combines science, psychology, ancient wisdom, Asian philosophies, meditation, and N.L.P. techniques amongst a compendium of success and leadership, besides more.

Why do I use meditation in my approach?

The answer to that is very simple. There is simply no better “tool” to connect someone, no matter who, with their personal resources, latent full potential, clarity, and energy.

By combining the breathing techniques of Pranayama, with Pratyahara, which is a withdrawal of the five senses that encage most of us from our inner resources, clarity, and wisdom, as well as peace amongst more, and with Dharana, which is nothing more but focus or concentration, we get to practice real Dhyana – which is meditation.

Meditation offers an always accessible resort for peace, self-confidence, clarity, balance, harmony and inner wisdom. But at the same time it is the perfect laboratory for neuroplasticity. Neurogenesis means the creation of new neurons in our brain, which happens everyday throughout our lives, but with techniques we create exactly the new neurons, that we need for the achievement of our goals. A combination with other techniques has the power to even save marriages. Though I never promise the achievement of such goals, even though that when certain techniques are practiced, it is possible. There is furthermore a reason, why more and more successful people from the business world are using meditation. Besides the mentioned benefits, meditation, together with breathing techniques, Pranayama, offers a ridiculous amount of health benefits. So, it is a tool that is very powerful in all spheres of being and life.

I learned through meditation and playing around with different breathing techniques, as well as studies of certain fields of ancient wisdom, to be able to completely quiet my mind whenever and wherever I want. Which brings a lot of freedom, clarity, energy, and much much more. I have therefore walked the path myself to the end and like to share my experiences and knowledge to help my clients get there too, if they desire it.
