A vision sets you apart from most of the people. Which is not the reason for having a vision obviously. Having a personal vision for your life is a cure to the potential stupid and suffering-related things we do when we don’t know what to do with ourselves, our time and our life.
“The mystery of human existence lies not in just staying alive, but in finding something to live for.”
Fyodor Dostoyevsky
When you have a vision, it brings you usually several things:
- Clarity of what you want in your life.
- A compass that always tells you if what you do has to do with your vision or not.
- Liberty of not knowing what you want to do with your life. Knowing instead where you’re going.
- A set of fulfilling challenges that make you grow into the person you need to be to live your vision.
- It makes you meet like-minded people.
- It brings the potential to easier create wealth than with something that isn’t part of your vision and perhaps you’re not even passionate about.
- Moments of bliss when you made a bigger step towards the realization of your vision.
- It adds something you like or gives you meaning to your self-image.
- It increases the tendency of success.
- It makes your thoughts, actions, and feelings get more and more in harmony together.
- It automatically raises your self-esteem and confidence which is fundamental for a successful and truly fulfilled life.
Steve Jobs emphasized the importance of having a vision in his commencement speech at Stanford.
“The time you are going to spend with getting the income you need for all your expenses is going to make up a huge part of your life. The same goes for your lovers.”
Steve Jobs
Therefore it is of utmost smart and logical, to take the time it needs, to figure out what you want to do with your life.
A compass that always tells you if what you do has to do with your vision or not.
By having a vision of your life that excites and motivates you, you massively decrease the chance of being lost or falling into a hole.
By for example knowing the five experiences, possesions or terms of being, the five, that you truly don’t want to miss in this life-time, you always have clarity of if whatever you happen to do, is supporting one of these big five for life or if it is rather distracting you form them or if it just relaxes you and recharges your batteries. You are freed from not knowing what you want to do with your life.
Five is a sweet number for your clarity because it is very easy for you, to associate each finger of one of your hands with one of your big five for life, or for ten years or the next 12 months or 6 months, etc.
A set of fulfilling challenges that make you grow into the person you need to be to live your vision.
Once you are clear of what makes your heart jump out of positive excitement, you will need usually to leave your comfort–zone, in order to fulfill your goals and hearts desires. The leaving is each time a little challenge, that you can prevent from being too big by visualizing the particular challenge or leaving of your comfort-zone happening successfully.
The experiences and the widening of your consciousness, with passing and mastering the challenges and the leaving of your comfort zone, will be added to your aura and self-image.
By following your personal chosen goals, you know who you need to become when you properly meditate on it. On the character traits, knowledge, skills, attitudes and mindsets, values and principles, habits, etc. To get or experience new desired things, you need usually to do new things.
It makes you meet like-minded people.
By going for your goals, you will sooner or later meet like-minded people. In case they do the same as profession or business, you see them as companions than concurrence.
A farmer who had always very big amounts of high-quality wheat to reap was asked what the secret of his good seeds were. His answer was that he gave his seeds to his neighbor farmers who also sew wheat. Like this, he could make sure, that no bad seeds from close by fields were ruining his crops. Win-win.
It brings the potential to easier create wealth than with something that isn’t part of your vision and perhaps you’re not even passionate about.
This shouldn’t be a surprise but again: when you have a vision that includes most or all of the things or experiences you don’t want to dismiss in your life, your vision is not only very pulling you through the harder times, but also making it easier for you to become eventually an expert in something that helps to live and create your vision the most. By knowing the field or industry of your career, you can decide to become an expert in this industry or field. By spending one hour a day for five years studying anything you can about this industry or field of action, service or product, you are becoming one of the experts in your country in this field. The more hours, the faster you reach the expert level.
Moments of bliss when you made a bigger step towards the realization of your vision.
Following a big and meaningful goal that takes several or many steps and challenges to pass and master, has the big advantage of having on its way moments in which you feel very very good and excited or even bliss, depending on the meaning you give your goals and their intermediate goals. You got already little celebrations on the way. The more you celebrate yourself for having done the necessary steps or having had a break-through, the faster elevate your positive feelings to more success and fulfillment.
It adds something you like or gives you meaning to your self-image.
Once you start learning, working and preparing yourself for the realization of your goals, you start to change your inner mental and emotional focus by thinking and feeling much more about the topic of your goals and what needs to be done. Due to the fact that eyes tell so much about the inner state of consciousness and emotions, you can recognize the type of energy, that the dealing and working for your goals create in you.
It increases the tendency of success.
Who hasn’t a goal to reach for, usually hasn’t a project that permits him or her to make such a progress or reach such a state of expertise or quality of service or product, that leads to real success. But let’s not forget that success is always up to each individual’s definition. As long as the object of success isn’t be given in a job for example.
It makes your thoughts, actions, and feelings get more and more in harmony together.
The more you think about the goals that include your vision, the more and more your general feelings tune into the kind of feelings that belong to the thoughts of your fulfilled goals and vision, as well as on the “darker side” to the concerns, doubts, and worries you might have regarding one of your goals or their challenges. Once you determine the right actions to take to make your goals happen, you start to feel much more in alignment with yourself due to the working triangle of thinking, feeling and acting in harmony or alignment.
Here are some questions to ask yourself for getting more clarity for your personal vision of life:
- What are your big five for life? The five actions, possesions or experiences you truly want to experience in this life-time? Writing a book, building a house, creating a harmonious family, building your own business, traveling a special country, learning a certain language are some examples.
- For what would you love to be paid for? What would you do for free if your housing, food and medical supply were fulfilled and you wouldn’t have to worry about money? What have you been doing for quite some time but haven’t thought about making it a business or career?
- What would you love to change most, assumed you could change it for sure, in your city, region, country, continent or in the world within the time of your life?
- In which field or industry would you love to be the person to go to?
- What are your biggest strengths and talents? With much more confidence, would you start a career, service or product out of one or more of them?
- What would your ideal and most confident self would love to do with the rest of your life?
In case your mind comes up with answers to these questions or associations, I highly recommend you to write these thoughts down. They come from your subconscious mind when they just pop up out of “nowhere”:
